Dr P. Krishnan, Director, BOBP-IGO visited Andaman and Nicobar Islands during 15-18 Mar 2023 on invitation from the ANI Administration.
During his interaction with Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, he highlighted the significance of knowledge/ experience sharing with SA and SEA countries, for Fisheries Developement in ANI.
The Chief Secretary welcomed the suggestions and hoped to work together with BOBP-IGO for developing the sector in ANI as a model. Ms. Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Fisheries) and other Senior Officials of the Department were present during the meeting.
Dr. Krishnan also visited ICAR - Central Island Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-CIARI), and regional offices of FSI, NIOT and ZSI.
