FAO, NORAD and IMR jointly organised a mini-symposium under the Nansen Programme at Maputo, Mozambique, during 30 -31 October, 2023. The program aimed at supporting the application of EAFM considering climate and pollution impacts.
The EAF-Nansen Programme Mini-symposium is committed to showcasing the accomplishments in the field of science and the endeavors to furnish essential data, information, and knowledge in support of sustainable fisheries within an ecosystem context.
Scientists and officers from over 30 partner countries and organizations from the Africa and Bay of Bengal region (Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh), participated in the meeting and presented their activities across 11 research themes of the Nansen Programme for promoting sustainable fisheries management and improved food and nutrition security.
Dr. Krishnan, Director, BOBP-IGO participated in the Symposium, along with other inter-governmental regional organisations. He is also part of the EAF Nansen Core Group, engaged in preparing the Nansen ProDoc 2024-2028.
