The National Centre of Coastal Research (NCCR) convened a Brainstorming Session at Chennai during 03-06 Oct 2022, coinciding with the visit of the delegation from Norway. The meeting was to elicit inputs from subject matter experts from India on integrating the data related to fisheries resources and stock assessment, shoreline protection and management, tourism, CRZ and ecology on the proposed web-based tool for Marine Spatial Planning, i.e., SAHAV.
Participating in the event on 04 Oct 2022, Dr. P. Krishnan, Director, BOBP highlighted the need for contextualizing MSP within the existing management and regulatory framework in India. He also called for evolving a data-sharing framework for collation and integration of historic datasets of various themes into the national MSP platform.
